Visualization's Foundation

AT A GLANCE

Background

Visualization’s Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation that was founded by Juanita Smith and is dedicated to providing food and shelter services for low income and underprivileged families, as well as services and activities for at-risk youth to give them an alternative to engaging in anti-social, criminal behavior. The organization is grounded in its ability to contribute to the betterment of society by addressing the negative impacts of violence, poverty, and lack of resources as a viable community-based organization. By including community youth and residents in activities and empowering them with appropriate educational and training resources available in our programs, we will position recipients of these services to improve the quality of life in their respective communities. Through this vital connection to such services individuals, will be better equipped to embark on a positive future for the benefit of their collective communities in the process.

Mission & Vision

Our Mission is to improve the quality of life of at-risk youth and families in need through various supportive services in collaboration with other community-based organizations. Our Vision is to contribute to the global prosperity of various communities served by directly and indirectly allowing various supportive counseling, empowerment, and educational services to improve the quality of life through training, mentoring, and preparing youth to become functioning, contributing members of society.

Position

Our Strategic Position is to serve as a vital resource between individuals impacted by temporary hardship, poverty, or illness and their access to the tools necessary to improve their current circumstances by:

- Engaging at-risk youth and community residents in activities that will encourage them to graduate from high school and aspire to attain higher educational endeavors.

- Mentoring, counseling, nurturing, and tutoring at-risk youth from low-income and underprivileged communities, which will increase attendance rates and decrease dropout rates, as well as provide them with a safe alternative to participating in anti-social, criminal activity.

- Assisting low-income and underprivileged families stricken by homelessness, poverty, and extenuating circumstance by providing food and shelter through transitional housing services, which will ultimately position and prepare them to become self sufficient and live independently in permanent housing.
